Autozone is perfectly fine for buying shit for my focus, for your wife's accord, for your teen's sentra, whatever.....and in these cases there really is no need for hardly any comprehensive indepth knowledge about anything. I dont see an issue at all with AZ's business model.....sure they trump themselves up a bit, but only the uninformed consumer gets taken in by that type of marketing (the real heart of the issue being uninformed consumers, expecting the world to provide for them as opposed to itself) and then gets upset that the counter-guys dont know squat about their Alfa Romeo or whatever. If I run into a guy at one of *these* places who really knows his trade, I consider that a fortunate bonus. If I expect it to be the standard I go to someone like our vendors here at TTnet. But then again, I am an informed consumer when it comes to my Z. You gotta pay to play as they say. Applies to service as well.
